Fontana Forni

Fontana Forni brings the Italian wood-fired oven out of the masonry wall and into the outdoor kitchen. The company calls itself the inventor of the metal outdoor Italian wood-fired pizza oven, and the whole line follows from that idea: real fire, built to be lived with outside.

The range reaches well past a single oven. Wood-fired, gas, and hybrid gas-and-wood models sit alongside smart temperature-controlled and countertop versions, so the fire can be as traditional or as managed as the cook wants.

Fontana Forni ovens are one hundred percent made in Italy, backed by more than forty years of the family's oven-building, and the construction is where that shows. The cooking chamber is built in 441 stainless steel, and the dome is protected by the brand's Endurotech Fire Shield, engineering meant to take real wood heat year after year.

An oven like this is bought for the ritual as much as the result: live flame, the rise of a Neapolitan-style crust, cooking done in front of the people you are feeding. It is an outdoor-kitchen centerpiece, and it rewards being seen at full size rather than in a brochure.
