Gaggenau
Gaggenau makes very few things and makes them deliberately: combi-steam ovens, cooktops, ventilation, refrigeration and wine climate cabinets, each built with an almost architectural restraint.
These are appliances designed to be seen as much as used. Up close the materials and the machined edges do the talking, and the restraint that can read as austere in a photograph turns out to be the whole point.

The name traces back to 1683 and an ironworks in the German town of Gaggenau, and the brand still talks about work examined by hand and eye at every stage of production.
Three centuries of that habit produce objects closer to instruments than appliances, finished for a very particular kind of kitchen. Stand in front of a wall of Gaggenau ovens here and the case makes itself without a word of persuasion.
Gaggenau, judged at arm's length
A Gaggenau oven is built to be examined, and a photograph flattens exactly what makes it worth specifying: the weight of the door, the machined metal of the controls, the way a handle is finished where a hand actually lands. On our floor you can stand at a wall of Gaggenau, open a combi-steam oven, and read the material and the tolerances by hand. During chef sessions and private trade visits the steam ovens are cooking, so the restraint that can look severe in a catalog reads instead as precision doing its job.
The Gaggenau range on our floor
Gaggenau keeps a deliberately narrow catalog, built to be composed into one architectural kitchen:
the core of the line, built to be set into a wall as a considered run rather than dropped in one at a time.
gas, induction and modular surfaces meant to sit flush in stone.
hoods and downdraft extraction sized to the cooking, not bolted on after.
fully integrated cooling and dedicated wine storage for a household that keeps a serious cellar in the room.
integrated dishwashers finished to disappear into the cabinetry.
The point of a working floor is to see the pieces resolve into a single language rather than a shelf of separate boxes.
Specifying Gaggenau with our team
For an interior designer or architect, Gaggenau reads closer to an architectural material than an appliance, and it rewards being drawn as a composition: an oven wall, a modular cooktop, integrated refrigeration reading as cabinetry. Bring your plans and our team can walk you from the oven configuration and integration to the rough-in your field crew needs, and you can host a client in the room while the ovens are running. See For Designers for how a working partnership is set up.

Where to see it
On our Roseville floor
Visit the Roseville showroomFrequently asked questions
Can I see Gaggenau appliances working at the Design Gallery?
Yes. Gaggenau is installed on our Roseville floor and integrated into finished cabinetry, and the combi-steam ovens are cooking whenever a chef session or a private trade visit is running. You can open the doors, handle the controls, and judge the materials in person rather than from a catalog.
What Gaggenau products are on the floor?
Ovens and combi-steam ovens, cooktops, ventilation, integrated refrigeration and wine climate cabinets, and dishwashers, shown set into finished cabinetry the way they are meant to be composed into a kitchen.
Where is Gaggenau made, and who owns it?
Gaggenau builds its appliances in Germany and France, and the name goes back to a 1683 ironworks in the town it is named after. It has been a subsidiary of BSH since 1995, the same group behind Thermador and Bosch.
Is Gaggenau meant to be integrated into cabinetry?
Yes. The line is designed to be built in and composed as a run, from oven walls to flush cooktops and integrated refrigeration, which is why seeing it set into finished cabinetry on the floor tells you more than a single display unit.
Do you help designers specify Gaggenau?
Yes. Our team works with designers and architects on oven configuration, integration and rough-in, and you can present the running appliances to a client in the room. See the For Designers page to start a partnership.
