Bosch built-in dishwasher in a kitchen

Bosch

Bosch is precision engineering made domestic: dishwashers, refrigeration, built-in ovens and coffee systems designed to run quietly and exactly. In the Gallery it stands for the appliances you stop noticing, because they simply work.

That is the whole ambition. A Bosch dishwasher you cannot hear, refrigeration that holds without fuss, ovens that sit flush in the cabinetry and ask nothing of the room around them.

That restraint is engineered, not accidental. Bosch was founded by Robert Bosch in Stuttgart in 1886, and the principle he set down, putting people first, still shapes appliances tested at length so they can be forgotten in daily use.

In North America Bosch is part of BSH, the group that also makes Thermador and Gaggenau, but its own case is the quietest of the three. The measure of it is a kitchen that runs for years without drama, which is exactly what a floor visit lets you sense in the fit, the sound and the seal.

01

The Bosch you have to stand next to

Bosch is the appliance you are supposed to stop noticing, which makes it oddly hard to shop from a page: the whole argument is how little it announces itself. On our floor that becomes something you can check. Open a Bosch dishwasher and read the rack layout and the door action, run a hand along an oven set flush into the cabinetry, and listen to how quietly the machine carries itself. Bosch describes appliances invented for life, and a working floor is where that stops being a line of copy and becomes a seal, a hinge and a sound.

02

The Bosch range on our floor

Bosch covers the working core of a kitchen, built to coordinate rather than compete for attention:

Dishwashers

the quiet, fully integrated dishwashing Bosch is best known for, panel-ready to match the cabinetry.

Built-in ovens

wall ovens finished to sit flush in a run of cabinetry.

Cooktops

induction and gas surfaces for a clean cooktop-and-oven layout.

Refrigeration

built-in and counter-depth refrigeration meant to integrate rather than protrude.

Coffee

built-in coffee machines for a household that wants espresso as part of the kitchen wall.

Bosch is made by BSH, the same group behind Thermador and Gaggenau, and on the floor you can see where the quiet everyday brand sits relative to its more expressive siblings.

03

Specifying Bosch with our team

For a designer, Bosch is the dependable layer of a kitchen, the dishwasher and ovens that should never become a client's complaint. Bring your plans and our team can walk you from the appliance package to the panels and rough-in, and you can open the running units with a client in the room. See For Designers for how a partnership is set up.

Frequently asked questions

Are Bosch dishwashers really as quiet as people say?

Quiet is the hardest thing to judge from a specification sheet and the easiest to judge in person. Bosch is installed and running on our Roseville floor, so you can stand next to a dishwasher, open it, and hear for yourself before you specify it.

Are Bosch appliances panel-ready to match cabinetry?

Bosch dishwashers and built-in refrigeration can be finished to integrate flush with the surrounding cabinetry, and the ovens sit level with the fronts around them. Seeing them set into finished cabinetry on the floor shows exactly how they disappear into a kitchen.

How is Bosch related to Thermador and Gaggenau?

All three are made by BSH, the Bosch Group home appliance company. Bosch is the quietest and most understated of the three, and seeing them in one room is the fastest way to place it against its siblings.

Where is Bosch made, and where does the company come from?

Robert Bosch founded the company in Stuttgart in 1886. Its US home appliances are handled by BSH, with manufacturing in New Bern, North Carolina and La Follette, Tennessee.

Do you help designers specify Bosch?

Yes. Our team works with designers on the appliance package, panels and rough-in. See the For Designers page to begin.
